Smart Living – good housing for all?
A study of how people with different needs and habits can use standard housing.
The project’s aim is to examine if a “standard apartment” of today can meet the needs and satisfy different types of households and groups of people. The focus is on the interaction between the housing’s exterior/interior design and usage, i.e. how people with different life styles and habits succeed in establishing a functional, day-to-day setting in this type of dwelling. The project will also examine how changes in the open-plan layout and furnishings are able to offer greater variation and diversity in usage and still remain affordable for people on a modest income.
