Future Healthcare

Our focus is on the interplay between technology, organization and people and how we can improve this interplay to increase sustainability in healthcare work and healthcare in general.

Our studies are carried out in close collaboration with healthcare practitioners, which often is a source of inspiration for  the issues we choose to investigate. Many of our projects deal with change and improvement processes and the effects they have on how people work and on the work environment. The changes can include digitalization and/or new ways of managing, organizing and performing the work.

We work in flexible research groups where we combine different areas of knowledge. This enables us to understand and analyze complex environments and processes, and to propose various kinds of improvements. We also have access to several labs – the Virtual Reality Lab, the Usability Lab and the Full-Scale Lab. Here we can test and develop different solutions together with practitioners. Explore our research laboratories on the Design Science's website.

We coordinate eHealth@LU, a cooperative initiative, and are members of the Metalund Centre.
