​​​​​​​Swedish competence centre in road technology – what is it and which opportunities can it give?

The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) has decided to finance a new competence centre in road technology, which will be coordinated by LTH, but also includes other actors. Joacim Lundberg from the Department of Technology and Society and director for the competence centre will give a seminar about what this new competence centre entails, how it is structured, what research areas will be prioritized, and how to get funding from the centre. 

"A newly founded competence centre in road technology has formed during 2023 which is funded by the Swedish Transport Administration with the intention to address the need to secure more competence regarding roads and subjects related to these. One such area is how roads impact on the environment where one of four research areas is “Health, environment and climate effects” which aim for projects relating to understanding how roads (both construction and inherent materials) with the traffic (for instance the use of studded tyres) impact on health, impacts on the environment and how it impact on the climate. This presentation aim to give an overview of the structure of the competence centre and which opportunities it can give for the aerosol area regarding research.”
