Ville Berg Malmborg

Phd student in aerosol technology. My doctoral studies mainly concern research on combustion generated particles such as soot. The research currently involves experimental studies of aerosol particles from biomass combustion, diesel engines and diffusion flames. The main instrument used is the time of flight soot-particle Aerosol Mass Spectrometer (Aerodyne).

I am currently involved in the following projects (among others):

  • Mixing of Black Carbon with other Pollutants in Fresh and Processed Emissions from Biomass Combustion - Implications for Adverse Health Effects and Short Lived Climate Forcing (SLCF)
  • Characterization of soot for improved knowledge on climate impact
  • Soot surface characterization using XPS at MAX-lab
  • Heavy duty diesel in-cylinder soot characterization
