Risk and safety management

In this field, we focus on identifying and managing risk and safety issues – in workplaces and in large complex systems.

An important starting point for us is the interaction between human, technology and organisation, also known as HTO or Human factors. We aim to contribute to measures for increased safety and sustainability.

Our research often reaches across different disciplines where we collaborate with healthcare, different industrial sectors and public authorities. Areas of particular interest include preventive work environment and safety management, creating safe working conditions and workplace design, but also safety culture in organisations, human behaviour and learning for safety.

We do research on:

  • Safety culture and radiation safety
  • Working conditions at research facilities with radiation risks
  • Pharmaceutical supply
  • Better medicine management for improved patient safety
  • Effective crisis preparedness
  • Risk behaviors on construction sites
  • Vibration exposure and preventive work environment measures
  • Fall accidents
  • Safety of nanomaterials
