Future healthcare

In this field, we research interactions between human, technology and organisation and how this can be improved to make healthcare more sustainable.

We carry out our studies in close co-operation with healthcare practitioners, which often inspire our research questions. Many of the projects are about change and improvement processes and how they affect the work and work environment. These changes can include digitalisation or new ways of managing, organising and performing work.

When we conduct research on the future of healthcare, we usually do so in flexible groups with people from different fields of expertise. This allows us to tackle complex environments and processes and suggest different kinds of improvements.

We have access to several laboratories, such as the Virtual Reality Laboratory, the Usability Laboratory and the Full-Scale Laboratory, where we can test and develop different solutions together with the stakeholders.

Research laboratories on the Design Science's website.

We do research on:

  • Digitalisation and eHealth
  • Work environment
  • Organisation and processes
  • Patient safety
